Biscuit Davis

Nice roots-rock album. Imagine James Taylor fronting the Dead.

The Good Time SIngers

Pick up a recent issue of Ugly Things, as I did, and read about the sad and strange life of former Monkees songwriter and Penny Arkade member Craig Smith. The near-book-length article inspired me to track down this record, which is, as it turns out, a little too Up With People cornball for my own tastes. But I thought that since I went to the trouble of ripping it, I'd share it with you nonetheless. Besides, it's on classic-period Capitol and David Gates wrote a few tunes. (I stuck a few stray tracks that I found around the internet on the end.)

Fire & Ice Ltd.

What's happening with this happening? Sounds like a bunch of stoners jamming, frankly. What makes it fun is that they seem serious about it.

By request, here is a re-up of a wonderful singer/songwriter album, which features Wrecking Crew members Jim Gordon and Joe Osborne as well as Larry Carlton and Jim Horn. I've also included "Megan Music."

Hoover

An album of countrified folk tunes by a guy whose songs have been recorded by Tina Turner, Eddy Arnold and country music outlaws Tompall Glaser and Waylon Jennings.

King's Road

Thanks to Timmy, here's King's Road performing "live" at the Watkins Glen festival. Would anyone have King's Roads' "Hits of Simon & Garfunkel" album?
