At the heighth of the sixties renaissance & before they did their famous 'loss leaders series' Warner Brothers & Seven Arts Records showcased some of their best talent from 1968 on this amazing DJ only sampler called SOME OF OUR BEST FRIENDS ARE. Fourteen intense tracks including a crucial cover of Nilsson's "1941". Unique cover drawing of hippies underfoot by the great R. Cobb. With a white Warner Bros. Seven Arts label on the disc signifying (& saying) it's a promo only. Liner notes by Stan Cornyn plus hilarious multiple choice questions on each artist. Disc is in VG condition with no skips, no warp. Cover is in very good+ shape with no bent corners, no seam splits, no disc imprints of note, no hand writing on cover or labels (see photos). Very small tape repair on upper/lower right corners. Includes original Reprise promotions inner sleeve with artists' photos & album covers. See photos. Numbered PRO 290. original 1968 DJ only release
