Since we're on a '70s tip, here's a wonderful little record - produced by Don Henley and featuring the LA Mafia - that came and went without a blip. A shame.

Sierra
If this record sounds a little like late-period Burritos, that's because it is. The band - Sneaky Pete Kleinow, Gib Guilbeau, Thad Maxwell, Mickey McGee, and Bobby Cochran - signed to Mercury, changed their name, and, with the help of Felix Peppalardi, they produced an album that leans more toward rock (think the Eagles) and less on country.

Fast Folk
This record from 1989 - featuring the likes of Peter Case, Victoria Williams, Milo Binder, and Marvin Etzioni - holds a special place in my heart because, well, I took the shot. Unfortunately, the person who designed the cover decided that tinting it with garish colors and breaking it up into multiple images was the way to go. To see the original shot, you can check it out here.

Henry Buckle
Couldn't find out much about Mr. Buckle, but I can say he comes across like a more affable early James Taylor. If that's your thing, you might just dig this.

Street Noise
Seems like there were a ton of these kinds of bands around in the late '60s. This one's well worth a listen.

Endtroducing
You likely wouldn't know this, but yours truly is the author of the 33 1/3 book, "DJ Shadow's Endtroducing." You could give back and support this site by snagging yourself a copy. Just follow the link below or purchase one from your local bookseller (if such a place still exists in your 'hood).

John Davidson
A curiously topical album, produced by Wendy and Lisa's dad. Update: Thanks to Rick for breaking this up into individual tracks.
