Our Boy

In my experience, it's exceedingly rare that someone offers to take you by the hand and help walk you out of your own personal wilderness. This album is about that journey and that person.

Goodnight and Pleasant Dreams

A man's work is nothing but this slow trek to rediscover, through the detours of art, those two or three great and simple images in whose presence his heart first opened. -Albert Camus

The Great Escape

Tuesday, August 18, 2020

Twelve songs about goodbyes and hellos. Regarding the locust on the cover, that sucker landed right on my window and I managed to capture the shot right before he flew away.

Harpo's Blues

Recorded in 2009, "Harpo's Blues" was done mostly under the influence and is likely my most peculiar, hazy, and experimental album. It is a clear extension of what I was after while making its predecessor, "The Friendship Ring." It is also what I consider the last of a sextet of records I made during this period.

Goodbye Richmond

A Sentimental Education

These three albums were recorded over several years in the early 2000s with the help of Dave Westner and Natalia Cooper at Wooly Mammoth Sound in Boston. I've set up a special Bandcamp page just to feature these records. Enjoy this trip through my earlier work.

Adiós Amiga

Wednesday, June 24, 2020

Years from now, if I am still around, if someone should ask me how I spent my time during the Plague of 2020, I'll say I worked hard at documenting my thoughts and feelings by writing songs that capture as best I could this moment in time. Yeah, I know, it's probably not the best idea to release so much material in such a short period. But because I am unfettered by convention and because I am unconstrained by expectation, I find myself in the unique position of being able to follow my own instincts, muse, and truths, which reside well outside of the commercial marketplace and contemporary culture. To paraphrase BD, I got nothing so I got nothing to lose. These are for you, then, fellow travelers.
