Wilderness Years

Days roll along
One into the other
All the time in the world, it seems
The next thing you know
There's one less day
And slightly taller weeds

Songs for a Blue Girl

Nothing goes right
Never has, never will
Won't ever be happy
Can't feel the thrill
Nothing will change her
Lord knows I've tried
Used my best jokes
And she merely sighed

Swingin' Sounds for Secret Agents

I want to thank the one (!) person who actually donated to the Bandcamp/ACLU campaign from this site. Not a lot, considering how many page visits I get on a daily basis. I did receive some unsupportive messages (including one guy who accused me of me ranting and being mentally unstable), and that's disheartening considering that the ACLU is there for anyone whose civil rights are being violated. The air is thick now with disinformation, lunacy and hatred. Music can help clear some of that air, and for those who think it shouldn't, perhaps they should listen to some early Dylan records. If the spirit still moves you, please consider donating directly to the ACLU.

The Top-40 Song Book

Another obscuro, this one featuring intros of "tunes made famous by the Beatles" et al., set to some stellar David Axelrod arrangements. Sorry about the snaps, crackles and pops (the vinyl had someone's greasy fingerprints all over it), although I think it adds a certain period charm. BTW, for those of you who barrage me with requests for re-ups and whatnot: This is not a store and I am not the customer service department. If you want something, why not also make a contribution?

Just a Taste

With its weirdly erotic cover, this rare-as-heck Dunhill comp shows off the label's wildly eclectic roster at the time (Alice Coltraine, Genesis, Van Der Graff, Jimmy Witherspoon). No wonder they went out of business.

Easy Listening Moods

Something from the A&M roster for you. BTW, my outboard CD burner (which allows me to make these rips for you) has gone haywire and I need to get a new one. You could help me out by making a donation (hint: click the DONATE button on the right). Or better yet, buy my new album HERE for $5, and you'll get something for your money. Burners cost around $30, so if just a few of you contribute I could get one right quick. Thanks.

Brutalismo

Twelve instros in a brutal time.

BTW, it looks like some of you have been busy downloading this, so much so that I've exceeded this month's free-download allotment, and now Bandcamp has kicked my stuff into automatic pay mode. So if you want to play, you got to pay. For five bucks, you could do worse.

And it's highly likely

So I'm putting a stop

Diary of a Plague Year

We think we're at our peak
We look at how high we can reach
But like Sisyphus
We go a-tumbling down
We go to church
And we pray for our souls to be saved
The water's rising
And we're scared we'll drown
Can you see Him
God is sleeping
