Here's a rip-off/cash-in record that tried to rope the unsuspecting into buying a faux Monkees album. It's not so bad, but it's also not so great. Read more about it here.
I saw this cover somewhere, back long ago. I brushed it off, thinking in the back of my limited mind, that it was The Banana Splits. I am so thrilled that you have caught my random clouded, polluted mind & cleared up one more dusty bit of my puzzling lifetime experience. I owe you for that.
I was skeptical about these LPs at first, and I'm not crazy about the covers of actual Monkees songs. The 'originals,' are fun and certainly Monkee-esque. And the lead singer does a good Micky!
Yes, thank you very much for this one, too.
ReplyDeleteGood job!

ReplyDeleteA fake record, by a fake band pretending to be another fake band. thats about as meta as you can get.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much! ...and so cool that you included the second album, "Monkeys a-Go-GO." A stellar post of (I assume) the complete Chimps. :)
